PREMIÈRE VISION GETS IT AL TOGETHER FOR FALL/WINTER 2017/18

The next edition of Premiere Vision Paris will take place February 7-9, 2017

Première Vision in Paris has grown exponentially from being a textile fair to include yarns for knitwear, leathers, furs, accessories and hardware. The accessory section in particular features not only findings for footwear, handbags and ready-to-wear but also interesting jewelry components.

A comprehensive colour story of the season developed by Premiere Vision’s fashion team is prominently displayed, and an informative fashion forecast video is played continuously in one hall. The leather section presents an equally visually exciting forecast every morning. Premiere Vision has thus become a one-stop shopping tour for designers and merchandisers for any product, from head to toe.

From Point A to B
Simple line drawings connect the dots to create any pattern, from abstract art to stylized flowers

Bird Call
Bird motifs continue to soar as one of the season’s key motifs in leathers and fabrics alike

All Puffed Up
Bold new lightweight quilts in novelty patterns should inspire a new crop of puffer coats. Leathers follow suit with dimensional puffed up surfaces ideal for boot shafts and handbags
.

Raised
Three-dimensional textures, often double-faced and reversible, are fresh new fabrications for outerwear and beyond

Dégradé Patterns
Placed border designs fade away creating an almost dégradé effect. Variations on grey continue to be an important colour aspect

Bristles
Fringes of seasons’ past evolve into all-over patterns in leathers, wool and acetate yarns for a spiky bristle look

Zigzags
Abstracted herringbone patterns were surprisingly strong in a variety of fabrics, from knits to satin as well as in leather

Liquid Metal
There is no end in sight for metallic leathers and fabrics. Newest are softer, subtle sparkle versions rather than mirror shine. There were the expected gold and silver versions, from light rose gold to antique gold and aluminum silver to gunmetal. However, focus seems to be on copper as the newest entry in the metal mix

Plissé
Accordion pleats move forward in transparent fabrications and leather

Large Scale
An oversized trend in ready-to-wear fashions inspires large scale, often-abstract fabric designs

Strict Formations
Complex geometric lines create strictly controlled patterns

Foliage
Leaves and vines go baroque in elaborate jacquards

Luxe Skins
Snakes, lizards and croco get re-finished in elaborate colour combinations and pattern for maximal impact

Neo-Camo
The popularity of camouflage patterns continues with exciting new versions in leathers, light weight and quilted fabrics
